Seiryu stone is a popular hardscape material used in planted aquariums and aquascapes. It is probably the most common stone type used for Iwagumi style layouts however it looks equally as stunning in a nature aquarium style layout.
It's colour will vary from a light to dark grey, it often features striking white lines through the strata and it comes in a variety of different sizes and shapes. It is worth noting that this stone can increase the pH and hardness of your water, which is generally not an issue. Only if you are keeping sensitive species such as Caridina shrimp or have a large amount of rock in your aquarium should you be concerned. The water adjusting impact of Seiryu stone can be limited by acid dipping. This may also turn the rock a darker colour.
It always pays to have a good selection of stones to choose from when aquascaping and the amount required will depend largely on the layout style you are going for however as an approximate guide we would recommend starting with about 10KG of stone per 50L of aquarium volume.
Seiryu stone is priced per Kilogram, select the quantity based on Kilogram of stone you require.
