Description: Pogostemon Erectus is a bright green stem plant with thin, pointed leaves. It is a relatively easy to grow plant and can be propagated by simply cutting the stem at the desired location. Due to its tall vertical growth that reached for the light, it is best suited as a midground or background plant. The addition of Co2 will assist in encouraging compact growth that will give the plant a bushy appearance when planted in groups.
Difficulty: As with all aquarium plants, Co2 injection and appropriate fertilisation are recommended for optimal health and growth. Pogostemon Erectus is an aquarium plant that will grow without the addition of Co2, however, slower and less compact growth should be expected.
Emersed Growth: The emersed growth of Pogostemon Erectus is a luminous bright green and is much tighter than its submersed counterpart. It is one of very few emersed aquarium plant variants with a thinner stem compared to its submersed stem. It is relatively easy to grow emersed, but the transitioning period can be difficult.
