Description: The Nerite Snail is a very adaptable species of snail that is known to live in both freshwater and brackish habitats. Not only do they offer a stunning range of colouration and patterns, they also very functional algae eaters. They are often said to be some of the best algae eaters you can get for your aquarium. They do not get very big, so are perfect for small aquariums and will not breed in freshwater. They do however leave eggs that won't hatch and can be difficult to remove.
