Description: Quite a slow grower in our experience, Native Mini Weeping Moss differs from standard weeping moss in that it develops much smaller fronds and its growth patterns will depend on how it is propagated. When attached to a flat surface like stainless steel mesh, its 'weeping form' is not that obvious. However, when fixed to an uneven surface such as rocks or wood it will begin to curl over as its name suggests. In saying this, Native Mini Weeping moss is a very versatile plant. Multiple mesh squares can make for an instant carpet whereas hardscape propagation results in an eye-catching feature.
Emersed Growth: Native mini weeping moss can be grown emersed. it will require some sort of medium to bind to such as lava rock, an aquarium substrate or peat moss.
If you are unsure of the difference between emersed and submersed growth you can visit our blog post here. This is a short article written by us that is easy to understand for beginners in planted aquariums.
Temperature: 15 - 28°C
- pH 6.0 - 7.8
- Growth Rate: Slow - Medium
- Lighting Requirements: Medium
- Co2 Injection: Not vital
- Origin: Australia
Difficulty: As with all aquarium plants, Co2 injection and appropriate fertilisation are recommended for optimal health and growth. Native Mini Weeping Moss will grow in a low-tech aquarium but at a very slow rate. Co2 and moderate lighting will encourage compact and lush growth.
