Description: Moneywort is the perfect choice for a beginner in planted aquariums. It is very hardy and will grow easily. Its structure and growth are very simple - light green stems that grow vertically with consistently spaced leaves. It is an incredibly versatile plant and is generally used in the midground or background. In smaller nano aquariums it could even be used in the foreground.
Difficulty: As with all aquarium plants, Co2 injection and appropriate fertilisation are recommended for optimal health and growth. Nonetheless, Moneywort will grow easily without Co2 injection and only requires moderate lighting.
Emersed Growth: The emersed form of Bacopa Monnieri is almost identical to its submersed counterpart. The only noticeable difference from our observations is a slightly thicker stem and slightly darker green growth. Moneywort can be grown emersed very easily - many people use it in outdoor ponds for emergent growth.
