Description: Ludwigia Dark Orange is a relatively new plant to the Australian planted aquarium hobby. In its submersed state, it has broad and bushy leaves that are yellow to orange in colour. Due to its size, it is not suitable as a foreground plant, but would make a suitable addition in either the midground or background. As lighting intensity is increased, the orange colouration becomes more prominent.
Difficulty: As with all aquarium plants, Co2 injection and appropriate fertilisation are recommended for optimal health and growth. Ludwigia Atlantis is relatively easy to grow and should still cope without Co2, but the best form will be seen under intense lights and C02 rich water column.
Emersed Growth: The emersed growth of Ludwigia Atlantis seems to vary quite significantly depending on humidity levels. In lower humidity it will show a dark green colour with significant yellow veins. However, under higher humidity it will take on a simpler green to dark orange colouration. It grows quite well emersed, with a medium growth rate.
