Description: Lobelia Cardinalis 'Mini' is a perfect foreground plant for beginner aquarists as it is easy to grow and slow-growing, making it easy to maintain. It does not offer the same, super-compact growth as the 'Heminathus' genus carpeting plants, but certainly appeals as something different and can also be used in small groups in the foreground.
Difficulty: As with all aquarium plants, Co2 injection and appropriate fertilisation are recommended for optimal health and growth. Lobelia does not require Co2 injection or high lighting to thrive but will grow much faster and stronger if they are present. It is a plant for aquarium hobbyists of all skill levels.
Emersed Growth: Lobelia Cardinalis' emersed growth is interesting in that it displays strong purple colours as opposed to the bright greens in its submersed form. It is quite easy to grow emersed but is slower growing compared to most other emersed grown plants.
