Description: Bacopa Salzmannii Purple is one of very few aquarium plants with purple colouration. It is quite rare in Australia and slow growing compared to many other stem plants. It prefers softer water but can still manage well in medium hardness. This specific variant will retain its striking colouration even in mediocre conditions. Other Bacopa Salzmannii variants do not have the same colour consistency. It is commonly used as a foreground or midground plant due to its compact growth and smaller leaf structure.
Difficulty: As with all aquarium plants, Co2 injection and appropriate fertilisation are recommended for optimal health and growth. Bacopa Salzmannii purple is an aquarium plant that will grow without the addition of Co2. However, strong lighting, fertilisation and co2 injection will deepen the purple colour and growth rate.
