Description: Reincekii ‘Mini’ is likely one of the most popular midground plants in the aquascaping hobby. It works excellently in creating contrast against vibrant greens or neutral stones and wood. With regular trimming, this plant will become more and more compact, which makes it especially suitable for smaller aquariums.
Difficulty: As with all aquarium plants, Co2 injection and appropriate fertilisation are recommended for optimal health and growth. Reineckii ‘Mini’ can be grown without Co2 and high lighting, however, the leaves will acquire colouration that is closer to brown than red.
Emersed Growth: Alternanthera Reineckii 'Mini' is another plant that is easy to grow in its emersed form. However, unlike most plants, it seems to be quite picky about fertilisation when grown emersed. From our experience, we have found that a lack of nutrients will result in much slower and paler growth. In optimal emersed conditions, with adequate lighting and nutrient supplementation, Reineckii 'Mini' will look quite similar to its submersed form.
